Gibson’s first real effort at replicating a ’59 burst was the Les Paul Heritage Series STD 80, which was made between 1980 and 1982. This example is #184 of this model’s early run, and features a gorgeous highly figured maple top under a slightly faded tea-burst, and original Patent Number humbuckers. The guitar is completely original but for new frets installed here, and remains in excellent condition.

The neck has a round carve, 1-11/16” nut, and 1st fret depth of .864”. The pickups measure 7.6k and 7.5k, and the guitar weighs 9.9 lbs. Pots are dated the 21st week of 1979. It’s great sounding guitar with a fabulous feeling 50’s neck carve.

Bookmatched maple top, one-piece mahogany body with set-in mahogany neck. Bound rosewood fretboard, nickel hardware and Grover Rotomatic tuners. Small peghead, Heritage Series truss-rod cover.

With original hardshell case
