Martin’s new D-18 Authentic 1937 offers the tone of a forward-braced pre-war D-18 with a T-bar reinforced wide-nut neck and ebony board and bridge. There’s nothing else that sounds more like a Pre-War D-18 than Martin’s 1937 Authentic model. With its scalloped bracing, VTS Adirondack spruce top, and hide glue construction, the D18 Authentic has power a-plenty, with huge headroom and an incredible mid-range. It’s a wonderful flat-picker that will leave most other guitars in its wake.

1937 Features include the vintage-accurate T-bar neck reinforcement, low-gloss lacquer finish, and Authentic neck carve. Waverly tuning machines, bone nut and through-cut saddle, under-the-finish tortoise-celluloid pickguard and tortoise bindings.

Soft V neck carve with 1-3/4” nut width and neck depth of .875” at the 1st fret. Scale length is 25.4” and the strings spread to 2-5/16” at the bridge. Set up in shop with 13-56 strings and medium action.

A lightweight powerhouse with headroom aplenty, focussed midrange, and a perfect mix of low end articulation and warmth, mid-range throttle, and treble roundness.
