National NRP-12 Fret Barnyard Blue

National's NRP Duolian is a consistent shop favourite, but the ante was upped upon the arrival this "Barnyard Blue' 12-fret. The guitar is otherwise a standard NRP steel body, but with a hand-sprayed one-of-a-kind aged blue finish that's oh-so-cool. National's CEO came up with the formulation for this finish and sprays every body himself. It's an involved process that leaves each instrument with a unique pattern of distressed finish that's then clear-coated over so you don't have to worry about getting flakes of blue paint all over your gigging clothes. And it looks great. We dig the oil-finished coverplate and tailpiece as well – they are perfectly matched to the NRP's body paint.

The neck is mahogany with a slotted headstock and ebony fingerboard. 1-13/16” width at the nut, 25” scale, and nicely chunky carve. Truss-rod, perfect intonation, and great fretwork are standard National issue these days, so you can enjoy a guitar that has all the vibe of an old one, but plays at modern standard.

Instrument pictured in photographs may differ slightly from current in-stock model. Current model has National's shield headstock logo.
