1946 Gibson LG-2

No FON. A one-owner, crack-free, script logo LG-2. One of the best sounding LG-2's we've encountered, and one with excellent playability. Very original and in excellent condition, with well-crazed lacquer finish and a good number of dings, dents, and playwear. The guitar is fresh out of our repairshop after having a number of braces reglued, the first few frets replaced with original Gibson wire, and a thorough set up.

1-3/4" nut width, round, somewhat chunky neck carve, classic post-banner feel. Scalloped bracing, spruce top, mahogany back and sides.

Very open through the mid-range, beautifully rich overtones, well developed bass response with more presence than is typical of this model, and solid, powerful trebles. This guitar proves, again, that 1946 was a good year in Kalamazoo…
