The goldtop Les Paul deluxe was introduced in the late 1969, shortly after the Les Paul Standard was reissued. It featured mini humbuckers, unlike the Standard’s P90s, but could be ordered with full sized humbuckers on request. By the time this guitar was made in the late 1970s the Deluxe had become a mainstay of Gibson’s solidbody lineup.

This example is largely original and has just had a refret and set-up in our shop. Playability is excellent, the 70s mini-humbuckers sound great, and the nut width isn’t narrow.

One-piece mahogany body with set-in 3-piece maple neck, bound rosewood fretboard, classic cream plastic appointments. Average wear and tear to the body and neck, moderate tarnishing to the hardware, and a few spots of heat or chemical damage to the pickguard. The neck has a low D carve with a 1st fret depth of .818”, and a nut width of 1-21/32”. The pickups both measure 6.2k, and the guitar weighs in at 10.75lbs.
