2011 Martin HD-28V

Martin's HD-28V was the company's vintage-style version of the HD-28 during its production run, and featured the HD-28's scalloped bracing and herringbone trim, but added a pre-war inspired modified V neck with 1-3/4” nut, a tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, through-cut saddle bridge, and vintage style tuners and headstock logo. The model was discontinued with the 2018 standard series redesign as Martin rolled the HD-28 and HD-28V into a single model with vintage features and a modern neck.

This example is in excellent condition and is a very good sounding rosewood Dreadnought. It's had some time to open up and develop, and has lots of volume, headroom and warmth. It's a strong flatpicker and strummer, and offers that classic Martin scallop-braced Dreadnought tone. There are just a few small scratches on the finish and the tiniest repaired crack at the base of the fingerboard extension. Frets show very little wear, and the setup was just recently done here at Folkway with medium Martin strings.

An LR Baggs Anthem pickup system was installed by us when the guitar was originally sold new.

Modified V neck carve with 1-11/6” nut, 25.4 scale and bridge pin spacing of 2-1/8”.

With original Geib-style Martin hardshell case.
