1959 National 1224 Tremo-Tone
The National 1224 Trem0-Tone is a Valco-built amp featuring a 6973 power section, tube tremolo and a pair of Rola 11x7 speakers. Unlike the 6V6 powered version of the 1224 from the mid 1950’s, this 1959 1224T has more of a Vox thing going on, with some jangle in the crunch.
The power tubes are the amp’s original RCA 6973’s dated 1959, and the RCA 5Y3 Rectifier tube is original as well. We’ve had the amp serviced, and a grounded AC cord installed. Tremolo works perfectly, with speed control and intensity permanently at max.
The amp is in good condition, with wear to the fabric covering and grill cloth. Original speakers, transformers, controls and handle.
