The Santa Cruz Model D is famous for its overall balance, warm tone, subtlety, and finely tuned response. Flatpickers who are hunting for a Dreadnought with a much more even bass to treble balance will love this guitar. It's a great choice for bluegrass-inspired, Jazz-tinged, modern flat-picking (think Tony Rice and everyone he's inspired), and it's a lovely strummer too.

This example is in excellent condition and shows very little playwear. It's been quite carefully cared for throughout its life and was original purchased from Folkway back in 2010. Set-up is excellent, there's plenty of saddle height for future adjustment as well. Rounded neck with 1-11/16" nut, 25.4" scale, and string spread of 2-3/16" at the saddle.

Indian rosewood back and sides, scallop-braced Sitka spruce top. Ebony fingerboard, bridge, and headstock overlay. Pearl inlays and ivoroid bindings;Gotoh vintage-style tuning machines. K+K pickup professionally installed. There are gorgeous touches all over this guitar -- from the color backstrip and mitred celluloid and wooden purflings, to the multi-ring wooden rosette and the gorgeous lacquer finish. It's a gorgeous instrument.

With original hardshell case
