2012 Collings O2HE Lefty
Serial # 20495. Ok, I'll admit that I play left-handed, and that's why we have always had a strong lefty representation here at Folkway. I'll also admit that I'm a huge fan of this particular small body Collings. We sold it new a few years back, and it's really developed and opened up over the time past. The Englemann top is a great idea on a small Collings, as it breathes and moves more than the other spruce varieties, allowing more bass and lower mid range to develop. Beyond that modification this 02H is factory stock, and very well thought out. It's immensely comfortable, comfortable to hold and play, and beautifully toned.
Standard neck carve, 1-11/16" nut, bone nut and saddle. Indian rosewood back and sides, ivoroid bindings, herringbone style 28 trim. Waverly tuning machines, small tortoise-celluloid pickguard, and belly bridge with 2-3/16" string spread.
The guitar is in perfect condition, and has just received as fresh set-up in our shop.
It sings with a nicely pronounced mid-range and, poppy and strong trebles and an cleanly defined low end. Dropped tunings really shine on this one, and although it actually strums nicely, a fingerstyle player or Travis-picker will particularly enjoy what this one has to offer.
