2015 Taylor 612ce First Edition
Taylor revamped their popular maple 600 series a few years back to great accolades, and the 600 series guitars continue to be among Taylor's most popular instruments. This example is a "First Edition' 612ce, built in 2015.
The guitar features Taylor's Grand Concert body mated to a short-scale 14 fret neck. The venetian cut-away body is built with torrefied Sitka spruce top and highly figured torrefied maple back and sides. Hand-rubbed brown stain to the back and sides, ultra-thin 3.5mil finish, ebony pickguard, and accents of pearl and ivoroid. Expression System II electronics. An understated guitar in its detail, the design of the 612ce allows the incredible tonewoods to have center-stage, with tasteful accents added to the soundhole, fingerboard and both faces of the headstock.
The guitar is in perfect condition, and has been carefully set-up in our shop.
With its smaller body, short 24-7/8” scale neck, very light build, and torrefied maple and spruce tonewoods, the 612ce has a tone that is very complex, warm, rich, and compelling. It's a guitar that certainly redefines the tonal possibilities of maple.
