2010 Collings SJ IND GSS

A simply wonderful sounding custom Collings rosewood SJ model. We're big fans of this guitar, and applaud the original owner for choosing a compliment of features and upgrades that bring the best out of this body shape. It's got an immense curb appeal that leaves no disappointment upon first strum.

Gorgeous Cremona sunburst on a German spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides with tortoise celluloid bindings that are brought to life by the adjacent white purfling lines. Short scale neck with 1-3/4” nut and a string spread at the bridge of 2-1/4”. Round neck carve with a full feel.

Rosewood headstock overlay with end-grain ivoroid and tortoise bindings, pearl inlays and "haircut' shape. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, pearl SJ inlays, bone nut and saddle, nickel waverly tuners.

The guitar has a particularly lovely low rumble underlying its traditional Collings power, mid-range charm and treble sparkle. The open bass definitely adds to its quasi-Gibson response, and the short scale round neck make it all that much more authentic. The effect is quite like what we'd imagine a 50's rosewood J-185 to sound like, if such a thing ever existed. It's a very inviting sound.

The guitar is in excellent, near-mint condition. Set-up here at Folkway, expect it to play perfectly, as well.
