1995 Campellone 18"

Serial # 570395. A wonderful guitar, with expressive 18" tone, fabulous looks, and meticulous craftsmanship, this Campellone is inspiring on many levels. Mark has long been considered one of the country's finest archtop builders, and every instrument of his that we encounter reinforces his reputation for us.

This 18" cutaway was custom built some twenty years ago for the musician who brought it our way recently. It's a simply appointed guitar, with single-layer bindings, unadorned ebony fingerboard, and black Schaller tuning machines. The guitar features a hand-carved Ebony tailpiece, ebony bridge with solid bass, bone nut, and burled walnut headstock overlay.

X-braced carved spruce top, carved maple back with mild figure, 3-piece neck with mahogany center, and Cremona brown sunburst throughout. 25.5" scale neck with 1-3/4" nut and rounded carve that's neither fat nor thin.

The guitar is in excellent condition, and shows only light playwear to the original frets. Set-up in our shop, the guitar plays delightfully well. It's been fitted with a MiniFlex Microphone that mounts through a second endpin hole in the tailblock. The mic sounds excellent, and uninstalls in about 3 minutes, with no onboard wires.

With original hardshell case
