1976 Larrivée Rosewood

Label dated 1976. Jean Larrivée built instruments at several locations throughout Toronto in the 1970's; and this particular guitar was produced at the Dwight Street shop in Toronto's Mimico neighbourhood, one year before Jean and Wendy moved the business to British Columbia. This model features Larrivée's classic "L" body shape -- styled after a classical, but nearly 16" across the lower bout. It has 'that Larrivée sound' -- with strong fundamentals and volume, presence through the midrange, and thick trebles. The guitar is in very good condition, but with a cleanly repaired top crack, a slightly shaved bridge, moderately worn frets, and some minor overspray. It plays very well thanks to our in-store set-up, and has a Fishman Matrix pickup.

Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, rosewood headstock overlay, rosewood bindings, mosaic-style rosette, ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, clear pick guard, Grover tuning heads, 1-3/4" bone nut, newer compensated bone saddle and 25.5" scale.
