2016 Martin Custom Shop 00-14 fret

Built with much similarity to Martin’s now discontinued 00L-17E Black Smoke model, this Custom Shop 14-fretter features a 00 sized Slope Shouldered Grand Auditorium body, vintage-inspired features and build, short-scale neck, and a gorgeous low-sheen dark navy blue lacquer finish.

Sitka spruce top with ¼” wide scalloped bracing, Sipo back and sides (Sipo is an African wood similar in tone to South American mahogany), ivoroid-bound top and soundhole, matching ivoroid pickguard, and Fishman Matrix VT Enhance electronics.

Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, Performing Artist neck taper with 1-3/4” bone nut, a low oval carve, and a bridge pin spacing of 2-3/16”. Rosewood bridge with compensated bone saddle. Stewart MacDonald Golden Age Kluson-style open-geared tuners.

A very lightly constructed guitar, this 00 offers up a remarkably warm and open tone. It’s responsive, intimate, and surprisingly versatile considering its smallish size.

In excellent condition with only a few very small dings to report about. Set up here at Folkway.

With original hardshell case
