2012 Martin D-28 Marquis

The now-retired D-28 Marquis was always one of our favourite Martin models during its production run. It's a powerhouse of a guitar with plenty of headroom, bass end power, and fundamental presence - and it's one heck of a flatpicker. With its Adirondack Red spruce top, forward-positioned Golden-Era style scalloped bracing, and big modified V neck, the D-28 Marquis offered players everything the D-28GE had going on, but substituted Indian rosewood for the GE's Brazilian.

This example features a dark 30's style sunburst finished top, bevelled-edge tortoise celluloid pickguard, 30's profile bridge with through-cut saddle, vintage herringbone and zig-zag trimmings, and 1930's appointments throughout. It's in flawless original condition, and perfectly set up. No real playwear or finish damage to report on.

1-3/4” nut, 2-5/16” string spread at the saddle, fossil ivory nut, saddle, and pins, and pearl slotted diamond inlays.

With original hardshell case
