2008 Gibson A-5
A master-model labeled Gibson A5 with snakehead style headstock, pearl flowerpot inlay, F-5 style long neck with fingerboard extension, and sunburst lacquer finish. Carved maple and spruce, F-holes, ebony adjustable bridge, pearl nut, and satin nickel tuners with pearloid buttons.
A bluegrass mandolin with the chop and cut of an F5, but the looks and feel of an A. Built like the fancier A-5L model but with less showy woods and scaled-down appointments, the A-5 could be considered a budget-priced high-end mandolin. This example is in gorgeous condition and has just been set-up here at Folkway.
Neck is fast and slim, with a flat fingerboard and a nutwidth of 1-1/16”.
With original hardshell case
