2007 Jason Romero Banjo

Jason Romero's banjos are largely the stuff of legend to most players, as his production is quite limited, and his wait list is long. It's a rare treat to have a Romero in the store, to say the least.

This 2007 model was built in Jason's Arcata, California workshop prior to his moving to B.C. Canada. It features an 11” flamed maple rim with integral rosewood tone ring, a matching flamed maple neck with his J2 peg head, ebony fingerboard and matching peghead, heel, and rim overlays, flamed maple bindings, cast bronze L-shoes and tailpiece, Romero bridge and calfskin head, and a collection of intricate and varied pearl inlays on the headstock, heel, and fingerboard.

The instrument is beautifully built, and a joy to behold. It's a truly wonderful sounding banjo, with a particularly expressive, warm and complex clawhammer tone.

In near-mint condition and perfectly set-up here at Folkway. 1-5/16” nut width, flat fingerboard with frailing scoop past the 15th fret.

With Superior hardshell case
