1954 Gibson CF-100 (as-is)

FON X8677-2. A great player Gibson CF-100 in need of a little love. Available from 1950 to 1958, the CF-100 was similar to the X-braced LG-2 but with a striking Florentine cutaway. It was the very first cut-away acoustic flat-top ever produced, and was available with an adjustable single coil pickup starting in 1951 (CF-100e).

The guitar is all original, plays well and sounds just like a vintage CF-100 should. That being said, it could definitely benefit from some love in our shop. The guitar needs a neck reset and new frets, there is a length-wise crack in the back of the neck that is evidence of a once over-tightened truss rod, but should pose no further issues for the instrument. The top has a crack at about 1 o'clock on the soundhole and an open center-seam; the bridge is lifting, and the bridgeplate holes are quite worn. The obvious wound at the soundhole really isn't anything than a cosmetic flaw. Come to think of it, this guitar is in the kind of shape most other vintage shops would call 'excellent'. Finish is original, nut and tuners are original, bridge is unmodified and the saddle is original, too. Bridge pins and end pin are the only changed parts.

The CF-100 features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, bound top and back, tortoiseshell teardrop pick guard, upper belly bridge, 24-3/4" scale, bound rosewood fingerboard, trapezoid inlay, crown peg head inlay, pearl logo and sunburst finish.

With chipboard case. Offered AS-IS
