c.1971 Gibson Hummingbird Custom

Serial # 612379. An attractive, crack-free, fourty-plus year old Gibson Hummingbird with great looks, excellent playability, and fine tone.

This example features the double-X bracing typical of Gibson's 1970's flat tops, spruce and mahogany tone woods, and classic Hummingbird looks. Three-piece mahogany neck with bound rosewood fingerboard and pearl block inlays; engraved pickguard, pearl headstock logo, and sealed tuning machines.

The guitar has seen its neck reset and bridge reglued in its past (work not performed by Folkway), and there have been small finish touch-ups around the heel of the neck and the bridge's footprint. Small maple cap/patch to the original bridge plate and set-up by us. Original finish is in excellent condition -- there is no pickwear, and only a small area of light buckle rash on the guitar's back.

The guitar has excellent action of 5-6 64ths at the 12th fret, and original frets that show little wear. Original nut has never been removed, and the bridge saddle is full height.

Contemporary neck feel, with a low round profile and a nut width of 1-11/16". 25.4 scale length.

With hardshell case
