2015 Gibson SJ-200 Bob Dylan Collector’s Edition

In 2015-2016 Gibson and Bob Dylan collaborated in the creation of a very limited production run SJ-200, each built as an exact replica of Dylan’s own personal SJ-200. Only 175 of these instruments were built for world-wide distribution, and were complete with a soundhole label personally signed by Bob Dylan.

The guitar’s specs match Dylan’s own custom-built SJ-200, complete with the artist’s Eye headstock inlay, abalone leaf-inlaid double pickguards, and Ray Whitley style purflings around the top. The body is built with Gibson’s finest Sitka spruce and figured Indian rosewood, and finished in a gloss lacquer with vintage sunburst top. The fingerboard is inlaid with a vintage Gibson Bella Voce style pattern and bound in white celluloid. Classic J-200 Moustache Bridge with bone saddle and white pins.

The guitar is in perfect condition and appears unused. It’s been set-up here at Folkway and plays easily with medium gauge strings. With its rosewood and spruce body and large 17” jumbo outline the guitar pumps out the bass. It’s a fun strummer, and fills a room effortlessly.

Bob Dylan isn’t one to put his signature out there too often, making this Gibson SJ-200 quite a collectable instrument.
