2013 Gibson L5 CES

What an incredible Jazz guitar! This L-5 CES is nothing short of spectacular in every way imaginable. Master-grade tonewoods and masterful craftsmanship, beautiful lacquer sunburst finish, stunning mint condition, and some simply incredible plugged in tone; this one will be hard to beat!

Carved 17” cut-away body with carved and tuned parallel braced spruce top and carved highly figured maple back, 25.5” scale ebony fingerboard and 5-piece maple neck, multi-layered bindings to the body, F-holes, pickguard, fingerboard, and headstock. Gold hardware throughout, '57 Classic PAF humbuckers, pearl block fingerboard inlays and vintage styling.

The L5 CES has remained virtually unchanged since the late 1950's. It's the guitar Wes Montgomery chose, and has continued to be one of the most iconic Jazz guitars of the modern age.

This example is in perfect condition and shows just about no playwear. It has been set up here at Folkway and plays easily and cleanly. The rounded vintage-profile neck has a wonderful feel in the hand, and the nut width of 1-11/16 is fast and comfortable. The bridge top has been replaced with a Sadowsky True-Tone Archtop Saddle, which offers the intonation accuracy of a Tune-O-Matic with the warmth and tone of a traditional wooden bridge top. The guitar's original Tune-O-Matic is in the case pocket if you'd like to reinstall it.

The guitar comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity and other case documents as well as its original hardshell case.
