1964 Gibson B-25
Serial # 196916. The B-25 was the new name given to the LG-2 in 1962, when the model was given a bit of a cosmetic makeover that involved a switch to a cherry sunburst finish, belly-up adjustable bridge, and a thicker pickguard. The guitar maintained its X bracing, spruce and mahogany tone woods, classical / 00 sized body, and short scale.
This example has just been through our shop for some hot rodding and repairs. We've replaced the adjustable bridge with a drop-in saddle replacement, and have switched the large bridge plate out in favour of a smaller, lighter, and better sounding plate. We've repaired a few minor cracks, and have seamlessly replaced the first few frets. The guitar looks authentically 1964, sounds much better, and plays nicely as a result.
Original finish throughout, original single-line Kluson tuners, nut, remaining frets, and endpin. Bone saddle and new Antique Acoustic bridge pins. 1-11/16" nut width, low oval neck carve. The guitar shows typical finish wear for a one that's half a century old, but no areas of excessive wear of careless dents.
With original Gibson hardshell case
