2004 Fender Masterbuilt John English 50th Anniversary Stratocaster

Serial # 4620. Built by John English. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster, Fender issued their most painstakingly accurate reproduction of those first Strats. Every detail of the guitar was designed specifically for this Limited Release Masterbuilt instrument, and many of the unique-to-1954 features were recreated for the first time in 50 years.

The guitar features a very light and resonant Ash body with original body contours, 2-tone sunburst aged lacquer, and a one piece quarter-sawn maple neck with original U-shape contour. For the first time since 1954, the 2004 50th Anniversary model featured the unique knobs, switch tip, pickguard, pickup covers, and bridge cover used in '54, along with the Patent Pending bridge saddles. Fender even re-manufactured the original strap and form-fitting hardshell case that came with the originals.

This guitar was built by legendary Fender Master Builder John English, and the guitar features the initials J.E. impressed in the body's neck pickup cavity, and the builder's signature on the back of the headstock. The guitar's certificate of Authenticity is serial numbered to match the guitar.

The guitar is completely original and unmodified. It weighs 7.35 Lbs. All original case documents, tags, and accoutrements are included with the instrument. A more collectable modern Stratocaster likely doesn't exist.
