1981 Fender Stratocaster Lefty

Here's an under-the-bed-special. A left-handed 1981 Fender Stratocaster, complete with all of its factory hang tags and case documentation, its original shipping “pyjamas”, original tremolo bridge cover, and original left-handed Fender hardshell case. What a find! Like many Fender guitars built from 1977 to 1981 this guitar looks like a 1977 model, complete with 1977 serial number and late 70's looks. But under the pickguard you'll find pots and pickups dated 1981, and a few very minor differences in how the body cavities are routed.

Sunburst finish with maple neck, bullet truss-rod, and large CBS headstock. Ash body, black plastic, F-tuners, and tremolo bridge. There's almost no playwear to the frets, and the finish is as close to blemish free as is possible for a nearly forty year old guitar. We've touched up some of the solder joints, but the guitar's electronics are completely factory original.

Set-up here at Folkway, the guitar plays as nicely as it looks, too.

This is going to be a dream-come-true for one lucky lefty!
