Headstrong Lil'King-S

Headstrong's Lil'King-S is the ultimate blackface-era amp that never was. Imagine an amp that's almost the size and weight of a standard Lil'King R or '60's Princeton Reverb, but has a power-rating somewhere between a Deluxe Reverb and a Vibrolux Reverb. The Lil'King-S is packs about 25 watts with 6L6 power tubes, a 12" Eminence Legend speaker, and tube-driven reverb and trem, into a finger-jointed pine cabinet that's only about 1" taller than a Princeton. And, with a simple re-bias, the amp can be run with 6V6, EL34, or KT66-88 tubes. There's nothing like it on the market.

Hi and low gain inputs, treble, bass, reverb and trem controls; black tolex with wheat grille and early-blackface vintage white knobs.

The amp has excellent clean headroom, and a nicely defined bass; when overdriven, the small-amp character still shines through. With the combination if its small size and small-meets-large amp tone, the Lil'King-S might just be one of the best gigging amps we can think of.
