2011 Gretsch G7593 White Falcon
Introduced in 1954 as the 6136, the White Falcon was "simply the most beautiful guitar in the world" according to the company literature of the day, and with copious amounts of 24k gold-plated hardware, ebony fretboard, multilayer white Duco finish, multiple gold sparkle binding and inlays we must say that we agree!
With this guitar's small f-holes, B6GW Bigbsy, non '59 trestle bracing, and uniquely shaped pickguard (which differs from any other model in the Gretsch lineup), this reissue of the Baldwin era White Falcon is more Billy Duff of The Cult than it is Neil Young and Stephen Stills. This, however, hasn't stopped our Saturday sales guys Sean and Mike from jostling each other to hammer out the intro to Neil Young's classic "Down by the River!"
With a 17" wide and 2 ¾" deep body, 25 1/2" scale length, dual high sensitive Filter'Tron pickups and bent arm Bigsby (the favourite of Mr. Guitar himself) this White Falcon's rich thick tone will captivate jazz & county players as well as classic rock & new wave aficionados alike.
The guitar is in perfect condition and shows no playwear of any kind. It's been fitted with a TonePros AVR-II locking bridge top and an ebony base, so it plays it tune and stays in tune well. The bridge was installed by us a year back. All in all, it's a great playing guitar. The feel is particularly heavenly too, thanks to that Bigsby arm and excellent set-up.
