2009 Fender Custom Shop '65 Stratocaster Closet Classic
This Custom Shop 65 Stratocaster was built with a few extra custom features that set it apart from most of the others out there, albeit slightly. The neck is carved from a magnificent piece of perfectly quarter sawn maple, and features a C carve, lightly tinted Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, dark rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots, 6105 fretwire, and a 9.5” radius. The guitar's body is 2 piece alder, selected at Fender for light weight, finished in that great looking Fiesta Red, and given the closet classic aging treatment. There are a few very small dings, and light craze lines in the finish.
The guitar's mint green pickguard and aged plastic look great on the Fiesta finish, and the factory pickups are a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity 2. The guitar sounds entirely heavenly.
Set-up in our shop, the guitar plays as you'd want it to. It's in perfect condition, and is 100% original but for a replacement 5 way switch. You'll find the original trem arm and bridge cover in the case along with the guitar's factory documents and Certificate of Authenticity. 7.7Lbs.
