1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb
Tube chart dated OF (July 1965, Production run #3), Oxford speakers dated late 1964, transformers all dated between late 1964 and early 1965.
Big brother to the Deluxe Reverb, the Viborlux Reverb featured 2x10" speakers, about 35 watts, and 6L6 power tubes, among other things. For many players, the added headroom of the Vibrolux, combined with the sound-spread and tonal balance of the paired 10" Oxfords, makes for the perfect amplifier. It's big enough to fill a hall and takes pedals well, and it's clean without being too clean.
This example is in excellent condition and has been professionally serviced fairly recently. Caps and AC cord have been replaced, as well as the power tubes. The tolex and grille are in great shape and without rips or tears, the handle is perfect, and the blackface panel is clean. All-told it's a very fine example. The amp's only flaw (and it's a minor one) is evidence of something having once been glued to the front of the grille cloth. There are a number of quarter-sized dried glue marks on the cloth that become visible in certain light.
