1965 Fender Jazzmaster
A beautifully kept and completely original transition era Fender Jazzmaster. Sunburst over Alder body, maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dots, transitional logo, Kluson tuners, nitrocellulose lacquer finish, tortoise-celluloid 4-ply pickguard, and white 'witch hat' knobs.
The guitar is as straight as it gets, with unworn original frets, no touched solder joints, and a nut that's never been out. The finish shows a few scratches and dings, but is otherwise in great shape, too. No appreciable wear on the neck.
The guitar is set up with a Mastery bridge, and comes with its original bridge tucked away in the case pocket. The Mastery bridge is likely the best thing that's ever happened to Jazzmasters and the like, allowing the best of the guitar's tone to shine while doing away with the fairly annoying idiosyncracies of the original bridge's poor design. That said, if you would prefer the original bridge reinstalled, we're happy to accommodate!
Setup and frets are excellent, and the guitar plays beautifully. All controls work perfectly, pickups are strong and well balanced, and the witch hat knobs are pretty darn cool.
The case appears to be original to the guitar, although 1965 is admittedly late for this color of case. Case-mixups are somewhat common at larger stores though, and that was likely even more true in 1965. It's quite possible that this case has been with this Jazzmaster since new.
