1961 Gibson Melody Maker
A fun, lightweight guitar with a heavenly neck carve, this '61 Gibson Melody Maker is a perfect players' choice. The guitar is completely original but for an added pair of tailpiece anchors. The previous owner installed a Tune-O-Matic bridge and moved the tailpiece back to accommodate it. We've replaced the original bridge to its original spot, and tossed the extra ABR bridge in the case pocket.
The guitar is in great shape otherwise and is beautifully set up. The original parts are all intact, including aluminum wrap-around bridge, electronic circuit and pickup, nut, tuners, and frets. Really, were it not for those added tailpiece anchors this guitar would have no faults and a much higher price tag! Great sounding single-coil tone, short scale neck, full width 1-11/16” nut, and a nice light weight.
