1971 Yamaha GC-10

Yamaha’s hand-built guitars from the early 1970’s are concert-grade instruments, made with the finest materials and excellent craftsmanship. The GC-10 features back and sides of perfectly quartersawn Brazilian rosewood, and a traditionally fan braced Western Red Cedar top. The guitar was built with expertly mitred green and maple purflings, rosewood bindings, and beautifully detailed tie-block and floral rosette. Ebony fingerboard, mahogany neck, fluted bone nut, multi-layered headstock overlay with ebony center wedge, and engraved gold tuning machines.

The guitar is in beautiful condition, and is crack free and without repairs. Original finish, frets, tuners, and nut. Excellent playability, with a comfortable modern set up that’s a bit lower than our ‘concert’ standard. 52 mm nut, 664mm scale.

Thick and dark in tone, the guitar has excellent volume and projection. Balance is excellent, and the upper register notes maintain strong volume and clarity.

With original hardshell case.
