1965 Fender Bassman

From the home of the original owner and directly to Folkway comes this 1965 Fender Bassman. The amp was purchased alongside the '66 Fender Jazz Bass that we currently have listed for sale, and was used throughout the late 1960's and into the 70's at regular gigs.

The amp had been sitting dormant for some time, so it went straight to our tech before we plugged it in. He had found the turret board had become mouldy from the years and was not salvageable. Our tech carefully replaced the old paper board and reused just about all the original parts; it was a painstaking labour of love, but it was worth it. The amplifier sounds incredible, and it remains nearly completely stock, including transformers and original tubes.

The head and original cab remain a pair, and the original 12” Oxford speakers are perfect. We opened the back of the cab to check out the speakers and were clearly the first people to see them in some 54 years. That's always cool. It's somewhat rare to find a Bassman head with its original speaker cab.

Come on over and try out the amp, we won't be shipping it!
