1980 Guild D-25M
The Guild D-25M is one of those desert-island guitars. It's the consummate strummer, and has provided musical inspiration to countless songwriters since its introduction in the late 1960's. The guitar was originally designed with a mahogany top but, by the time this example was built, spruce had become standard. Guild continued to dark-tint the finish on this model's top to resemble the mahogany back and sides, and the model continued to be called the D-25M, even though the top wood had been changed.
Dreadnought body with 25.5” scale, arched mahogany back and matching sides. Black body bindings with white purflings, tortoise celluloid pickguard, gloss lacquer finish. Mahogany neck with round carve, 1-11/16” nut and rosewood fingerboard, black headstock overlay with pearloid inlays and logo. New bone nut and saddle made and installed here along with the balance of the guitar's setup.
The guitar is in excellent shape but for an old side crack repair on the lower bass bout. The crack was minor, but there is overspray in the area. It's blended in and easy to forget about. A great sounding guitar, with all the darkness, warmth and lo-fi tone Guild Dreadnoughts are famous for.
With hardshell case
