1952 Gibson LG-3

Here's a particularly open and resonant early 1950's Gibson LG-3 that's spent the entirety of its life within an hour's drive of Toronto. It's really a special guitar and everything one would want from an LG-2 or 3. It's lightweight and responsive, dynamic and rich, with a lovely focus in the midrange, classic Gibson rounded trebles, and a present and clear bass response. It's certainly a great sounding LG-3.

The guitar is in excellent condition and original but for new frets, nut, saddle, bridge pins and tuner-buttons. The work was done by Folkway's Mark Stutman within the last year or two and the guitar plays perfectly.Excellent neck angle, original finish throughout, and no structural repairs other than a few very cleanly reglued brace ends and one tightly glued top crack. Original bridge and bridge plate and original Kluson tuners. Very cool 1950's store decal on the back of the headstock from Mason Music in Toronto, and Made in USA export stamp just above it.

Rounded early 1950's neck carve, 1-11/16" nut, 2-1/8" string spread at the bridge. Unworn frets, full height saddle.

With modern hardshell case.
