Recent Larrivée LV-10
Larrivée's LV-10 features a cut-away body of master-grade Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce, rosewood bindings, and pearl top border and rosette. Mitred purflings and pearl fingerboard and bridge inlays add to the guitar's refined look, and Larrivée's classic sterling silver and pearl headstock inlays finish the guitar with a classy touch. This is a great looking guitar in every way.
Larrivée's "L' body shape is based on a classical guitar, but enlarged to Dreadnought proportions and features a 16” lower bout width and full D-size depth. The tone is unique to Larrivée – clean and clear with a strong fundamental and almost absent of overtones. The guitar lends itself to precise playing – fingerstyle or otherwise – and would be an excellent studio choice as well. The Larrivée signature sound has a pronounced midrange with trebles that detail and accentuate, and a bass response that's detailed, present, and balanced. Overall volume is excellent under a standard attack, and the guitar is quite lovely to listen to.
1-3/4” nut, D-carved neck with medium depth, 25.6” scale. Condition is near perfect, but for a pair of tiny and hard to find dings on the top's lower treble bout. Fitted with a BBand AST pickup, and set-up here at Folkway.
