2013 Oskar Graf Lefty

Commissioned in 2013, this one of a kind left-handed Oskar Graf features his C-model body fitted with a 12 fret neck. Somewhat inspired by a vintage 12 fret Martin 000-18, this Graf features a very lightly built body of mahogany and European spruce, a slotted headstock and short scale neck, and tastefully simple appointments. The neck offers a rounded C carve and nut a nut that's just shy of 1-3/4 in width. Ebony pyramid bridge, ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, Waverly three-on-a-plate tuning machines and bone nut and saddle. Classic Graf aesthetic throughout with Rosewood bindings and mitred purflings, truncated herringbone back strip, mosaic rosette and unadorned headstock.

Oskar Graf is among the most highly skilled luthiers we can think of, and his old-world masterful workmanship remains largely unrivalled. His attention to both tonal detail and cosmetic perfection is second to none, and his instruments are widely considered to be among the finest hand made guitars available. There is simply nothing else like an Oskar Graf guitar, and this is one of the very few left-handed examples he has built.

The guitar has a very clear and dry response, with excellent balance, fundamental presence, and a loose and open voice. It's very responsive and enjoys a medium attack with either fingers or flatpick. An exceptional fingerstyle guitar, and a surprisingly deft flatpicker as well.

In excellent condition, the guitar shows very little playwear or fretwear. There are a few minor dings in the very thin lacquer finish, and some minor light scratches here and there. Set-up in shop with fingerstyle action.
