Taylor Builder's Edition K14ce

The Builder's Edition Taylor K14ce celebrates the introduction of the company's new V-Class bracing, along with Andy Power's official ascension to the role of Taylor Guitar's Master-Designer. The model was rethought from the ground up around the V-Class top bracing, and features torrefied Sitka spruce and figured Hawaiian koa tonewoods, intricate inlays and purflings, and uniquely contoured bevels to the body's edges and cutaway, along with a most comfortable armrest bevel. It's a beautiful and unique guitar, and an incredible rethinking of the parameters of what an acoustic guitar can be.

The Builder's Edition K14ce offers an incredibly even, pure, and balanced tone, and plays with surprising clarity, focus, sustain, and perfect intonation. The V-Class bracing was designed to control the directions of deflection in the top in order to specifically enhance focus and fundamental, and we've been very impressed by what Taylor has achieved in the process.

The guitar features inset Koa and Paua Abalone purflings and rosette and a new "Silent Satin' finish that eliminates the playing noise that's normally associated with satin finishes while maintaining the non-sticky feel advantage. The ebony fingerboard features a unique "Spring Vine' inlay and matching ebony bindings, and the headstock is ornamented with a matching pearl inlay and logo, and gold Gotoh 510 tuning machines.

With its back and neck's subtle sunburst finish, tasteful appointments, Master-grade tone woods, incredible playing feel and sophisticated tone, the Builder's Edition K14ce is something of a force to be reckoned with among other guitars in its price point. A showpiece of any guitar collection, this version of the Taylor K14ce will surely be one we're still talking about many years down the road.
