2014 Larrivee LV-04
The Larrivée 04 series is a hybrid of the company's value-packed 03 series and their higher-end models. Like the 03 series, the LV04 features a Sitka spruce top, satin finished Indian rosewood back and sides, one-piece mahogany neck with ebony headstock overlay and ivoroid binding, ebony bridge, and maple body bindings. Borrowed from the 05 and 09 series, the instrument features a gloss-finished top, herringbone rosette, bone nut, saddle, and bridgepins, upgrading top bindings, fancier tuning machines and a pearl headstock logo.
The guitar is built with symmetrical parabolic top bracing, which is what makes a Larrivée sound like a Larrivée. There's lots of power and strength through the midrange, and the guitars open up beautifully over time. Venetian cut-away, D profile neck carve with 1-3/4" nut and 25.5" scale.
