Martin 00-17S Black Smoke

Martin's 12 fret 00-17S Black Smoke is a lightly built grand concert sized model with a definite bent towards the vintage in both looks and tone. The guitar is built with a spruce and mahogany body, scalloped X bracing, small rosewood bridge, and super-thin Black Smoke lacquer finish. With such a thin finish and light bracing, the guitar is made alive with even a very light attack - making it a favourite among the fingerstyle crowd. But, with its short 24.9" scale, 1-3/4" nut width, 2-5/32" string spread at the bridge, and bone nut and saddle, the guitar is a delight to play, regardless of how you do it!

Ivoroid-bound top, unbound back, 3-ring celluloid rosette, no pickguard, open geared vintage-style tuners, 1930's style headstock logo, and style 18 pearl fingerboard dots. Performing artist neck carve with modified low oval profile, rosewood fingerboard.
