2016 Treehouse Custom

Zachary Lefebvre builds guitars just outside of Sault St. Marie, Ontario, and has earned a high regard in the five years since establishing his own shop. A student of Sergei DeJonge, Lefebvre's designs show the hallmarks of his mentorship with DeJonge, but have evolved along their own limb of the Canadian guitar-building tree.

This instrument, completed in 2016, features back and sides of local figured birdseye maple, salvaged bearclaw Sitka spruce, and intricate detail work and purflings. Lefebvre is clearly into the details, and this guitar shows the builder's craftsmanship well. Have a look at the guitar's purflings and binding, inlaid rosette and headstock, soundport, and endgraft.

Finished with a finely executed French polish finish, the guitar's tone woods and details show gorgeous depth and color. Lefebvre is clearly an expert at the art of applying French polish.

25.5" scale ebony fingerboard with EVO fretwire, bone 1-3/4" nut, and string spread of 2-3/16" at the bridge. Low C neck carve, Gotoh 510 tuning machines.

A modern-sounding guitar with a lovely openness through the mids and lows, compression in the higher register, and a well balanced response across the fretboard.

With deluxe hardshell case.
