Stéphane Ferré Egelmann Double Top

Stéphane Ferré builds concert-grade classical guitars in Quebec City. This example is an Engelmann /cedar double-top with Nomex honeycomb center laminate and Indian rosewood back and sides. A largely traditional build, apart from its double-top construction, the instrument features a 5 fan bracing pattern, Spanish-heel neck attachment, and a carefully applied French polish finish. Rosewood bindings and a mosaic rosette trim the guitar of tastefully.

650mm scale neck with 52mm nut and 58mm string spacing at the bridge. Reinforced Spanish cedar neck with radiussed ebony fingerboard. Gotoh premium tuning machines, rosewood bridge with pearl tie-block, and driver’s side soundport.

With its Engelmann and cedar top, the guitar is both sweet and strident. It is defined, clear, and pronounced; and has a lovely treble string cut higher-level players will genuinely appreciate.
