Stéphane Ferré Cedar Double Top

Stéphane Ferré builds concert-grade classical guitars in Quebec City. This example is a Cedar double-top with honey comb lattice center laminate, paired with Bocote back and sides, and built with elevated fingerboard neck design. The instrument is wonderfully responsive, lively, and present; and offers the sweetness of Western red cedar but with more power, definition and headroom than most players expect from this tone wood. The guitar is lightly built and meticulously crafted, with a French polish finish that’s expertly applied.

Reinforced Spanish cedar neck with slightly radiussed ebony fingerboard, 650mm scale, and 52mm nut. Bridge string spread is 58mm. Modern rounded neck carve finished with a petite heel for easy upper fret access. Spanish heel construction.

Rosewood bridge with pearl tie-block and compensated bone saddle. Matte finished gold Gotoh premium tuning machines, integrated Bocote armrest.

With Hiscox hardshell case
