Circle Strings Koa Parlor

Circle String instruments are hand-crafted by Adam Buchwald in Burlington Vermont. A NYC transplant to northern New England, Adam honed his skills in the repair shop of Brooklyn’s Retrofret before hanging a sign up on his own shop.

Folkway commissioned this guitar from Circle Strings after having played one of Buchwald’s parlor guitars at the Fretboard summit a couple of years ago. A small guitar with a lot of power, vibe, and tone, it is a wonderful fingerstyle instrument and sized perfectly for the couch. At 13” wide this guitar is about the size of a Martin Size 1.

Figured Koa body with maple bindings, ebony accents, and mitred purflings. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, pearl logo and nickel Waverly tuning machines. Scalloped braces under the hood, round vintage-inspired neck shape with a chunky feel, 24.75” scale, a nut width of 1-3/4”, and 2-1/4” pin spread at the bridge.

A simple, elegant, and classy smaller guitar.

With custom Ameritage hardshell case
