The Sierra has been Deering Banjo's most popular model for over two decades because it sounds great, plays well and is an attractive and affordable professional level banjo.
Stained mahogany neck and resonator, three ply violin maple rim, Deering -06- 20 hole bell bronze tone ring, one piece cast zinc flange, Deering true-tone tailpiece, 22 fret ebony fingerboard with pearl inlays, notched tension hoop, nickel-plated hardware, and planetary tuners. 1-1/4" width at the nut, 26-1/4" scale. The Deering Sierra is a quality built instrument throughout with top of the line parts, the model's standard finish is a satin lacquer.
