c.1940 National Princess Steel

Serial # C5965. A National-built lap steel from the early 40's that features the first incarnation of National's famous 'string-through' pickup. 'The Princess' is an attractive instrument with a one piece stair-step body and white 'pearl-ette' finish; volume and tone controls, and a painted aluminum fretboard. The tone knob was coined the 'Tone Blend Regulator' by National, and allowed the player to sweep from a bright treble on through to a mellow bass.

The instrument is in great shape, and apart from new correct replacement tuners, is completely original. Hard-wired cable and non-slip friction back, set-up in our shop.

With original chipboard case
