1953 Gretsch Electromatic Steel
Serial # X40803. Built by Valco for Gretsch, the Electromatic steel features a pearloid-covered symmetrical body, back-painted plastic fingerboard, and a robust metal control plate.
The DeArmond pickup and control knobs scream 1950's harmony, and the plugged in tone has that fat, clean, and chimey classic DeArmond tone. It's a sweeter sound than the National / Supro steels that abound, and so much more unique.
Changed tuners, but otherwise original and in excellent condition.
With original hardshell case
