c.1930's Dobro Angelus

Serial # 1622. The Angelus was Dobro's least expensive offering before WWII. The instrument featured a different cover plate than its more expensive siblings, was built without a soundwell, and featured painted-on faux bindings. Still, it did what it did well, and the model sold in great numbers during the Depression.

This example is in excellent condition and has survived the years beautifully. It's completely original and unaltered, and it's even still fitted with its original nut riser for Hawaiian style action. Although a round-neck Dobro, this Angelus is only playable lap style thanks to its high action and neck angle.

A lovely sounding lap slide, this offers players an economical way to get into all the goodness a vintage Dobro has to offer.
