Northwood FC810R

Northwood Guitars are built by John McQuarrie in Sorrento, British Columbia. McQuarrie worked at Larrivée Guitars during the late 1980's and through 1994, when he left to start Northwood, and has been building his guitars one at a time ever since.

This model is the FC810R, a 16” mini-jumbo with Florentine cut-away, Indian rosewood back and sides and Engelmann spruce top. Rosewood bindings with mitred w/b/w purfling strips inspired by Larrivée. Herringbone back strip, interesting herringbone rosette, and black pickguard. Bound ebony fingerboard with 25.5” scale, ebony bridge and headstock overlay. C neck carve with 1-3/4” nut.

The guitar is good condition without cracks or damage, but there is wear to the finish, dings, dents, and scratches. Frets don't show much wear and play well. Set-up here in shop, the guitar has a fingerstyle set up with a full height saddle, and plays amplified with a LR Baggs Lyric pickup system.
