1979 Larrivée Steel String

Serial # 090636. A Victoria, British Columbia built Larrivée from the late 70's. By 1979 Jean Larrivée had been building guitars for over 10 years and was well on his way to establishing himself as one of the premier builders of the modern era. From the jam space to outer space, his instruments are loved by players the universe over.

This model is what would eventually become the "L" body shape and has Larrivée's signature 90 degree X-brace with tone-bars running parallel to the bridge. This bracing pattern can be found in Larrivée guitars to this day, and gives the guitar its characteristic bass projection, balanced mids and singing trebles. This guitar is in good condition, with a few small crazes in the finish and a few small dings. The guitar plays exceptionally well thanks to a set-up from our shop.

Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, rosewood headstock overlay, maple binding, mosaic-style rosette, Ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, clear pick guard, Grover Imperial tuning heads, 1-3/4" bone nut, bone saddle and 25.5" scale.
