2005 Kevin Ryan Nightingale Grand Soloist

Serial # 54061. A strikingly fine sounding fingerstyle guitar from one of this era's most renowned builders. Kevin Ryan's guitars always command the utmost of respect, but this particular instrument must easily be among the best sounding of his creations. Tony McManus, fingerstylist extraordinaire, dropped in just as I sat down to write this and enjoyed the guitar immensely, commenting on the instrument's exceptional tone.

Indian rosewood back and sides, Englemann spruce top, Macassar ebony bindings, armrest, and headstock backstrap. 15-7/8" wide lower bout with a depth of 4-7/8" at the end pin make this one big guitar- but thanks to the armrest and body outline it remains very comfortable to play seated. Mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, pearl rosette, venetian cut-away. Gold Gottoh 510 tuning machines, 1-3/4" nut, 25-3/4" scale length.

The instrument plays with a very rich and open voice, and offers a power and complexity well above what one would expect. It is in as-new condition, and is perfectly set up.
